Drought. Over the last twenty plus years we have seen an increased frequency of long dry seasons. Compounded with outdated water practices aquifers are depleting faster than they can replenish. Current water-use policies are no longer sustainable and if we do not make drastic changes shifting our farming and consumption practices our lands may soon lay bare. Desolation Beautiful: Platter represents the absence of produce because of worsening drought conditions. The separation in the glaze mimics a dry, cracking landscape void of vegetation and as such the platter is empty with no food to share.
