3D Earth

An interactive piece at the exhibition

Using water soluble oil paints, I wanted to create a creepy and yet confusing piece about the effects of wildfires and the toxicity they add to the air that we breathe. I have a girl presented as the vocal point with her mask. Different types of masks are something that are much more recognizable now after the pandemic. The messy and more abstract background involves wildfires and the dark skies that come after. This is done to represent the confusing choices and solutions we have as a society to try to get over climate change. From getting others to believe in it, to getting our government officials to fight for solutions, everything seems messy and confusing, which is how I tried to illustrate the background.
